2025 CLASS OF ‘15 CUP (LIGHTS)
Stanford Lightweight Women vs. Princeton Saturday, April 12 – Lake Carnegie, NJ
Stanford Lightweight Rowing competed in its first spring race day on Saturday morning, battling harsh racing conditions in a road dual against Princeton. To put in context, some races further in the Northeast were cancelled this weekend due to weather! Nevertheless, the team was excited to get some early top tier competition to see what was developing well and what could be built upon.
Racing began with the varsity eight, as the Cardinal 8+ posted a time of 7:41.8, finishing 2nd to Princeton. The Tigers also took the 4+ race, with Stanford coming in 2nd at 8:56.1—solidly ahead of Princeton’s B boat which rounded out the field in 3rd place.
Competition came to a close with the 2x, as the Cardinal double crossed the finish line at 10:28.5, finishing 2nd to Princeton. The team walked away with some hard lessons learned and new objectives to chase, but still with a lot of confidence for the future. After this cross-country trip and some rough water racing, the Stanford Lights are excited to return to action next weekend at home, hosting Wisconsin at Redwood Shores on Saturday, April 19.
