2025 V. WISCONSIN (LIGHTS)
Stanford Lightweight Women
It was another great weekend of racing at Redwood Shores, as Stanford Lightweight Women’s Rowing hosted Wisconsin for a spirited dual on April 19th. Under nearly ideal conditions, the Cardinal displayed grit, growth, and great momentum heading into the back half of the season.
The Varsity 4+ kicked off the day with a confident row, showing marked progress in execution and speed. This group has been steadily gaining traction each week, and the crew’s composure on race day was a promising sign for what’s to come.
Next up, the Varsity 8+ raced with poise and precision, focusing on rhythm and internal execution. Despite the inevitable mid-race discomfort that comes with pushing limits, the crew held their form and delivered a technically sound and focused piece. It was a performance that spoke to the discipline and maturity developing within the boat.
The 2x, raced by a dynamic freshman duo, rounded out the day with fierce determination—despite a minor run-in with a buoy! These athletes are showing tremendous heart and are eager to keep pushing the envelope as the season progresses.
Overall, this was a valuable weekend for the Lightweight squad—not just in racing experience, but in reinforcing the team’s upward trajectory.
